More Sketches

More from my new sketchbook. these are 2 page layouts. I love the way this one is binded AND there's no perforated edges.

Sketches

So since I don't really have any finished work I've decided to upload some sketches and concept work for something that may or may not come true.

The Sketchbook Project

So this is everything that I put into my Moleskine. It will be on tour starting February 19 in Brooklyn, NY at the Brooklyn Art Library. The closest one to me in the stop in DC on April 11-30 at Transformer Gallery. Sadly I will not be attending since I will be studying abroad in Australia. But if you are reading this then you should go and support me. If you would like to find out other dates or just see where it will be throughout the year click here.

Update

So this is just another render of a hover car I modeled. I'm going to be using this in an upcoming animation, hopefully everything goes right. Wish me luck.

Sketchbook Project

I was pretty excited when I woke up this morning (@12:00pm don't judge) and I read through all the emails that I had gotten throughout the night. The deadline for the sketchbooks has been extended to Tuesday January the 18th!!! Now I don't have to rush the last drawing AND i can finish scanning all the pages in. I guess I should be thanking all the bad weather New York is getting since that is the main readon why they extended the date. And they also said that it was because of all the other natural disasters happening around the world, the only one that I know of is in Australia. But none the less I am super excited to be finished with it and also excited to find a new project to start. This was good experience for me. I do plan on doing this again next year, but I'll focus more on the digital media.

My plan is to un bind the book and print the work that I do on the computer on to the pages of the book and then rebind them. I fell like that will be a very interesting way of creating a "sketchbook". Well it'stime to finish up that last sketch, I'm thinking something epic.

Mental Ray

So I finally figured out how to some what kinda use mental ray in maya. I love the way it turns out. I might add some bump maps to make it look super cool :D.

Practice

Practice with faces. They were all done with markers and they each took under 20min roughly.

My Life

So It's been a couple weeks since I last uploaded something. I haven't been busy just lazy. I'm trying my best to stay focused and actually finish projects that I've started but I'm not doing to well. The deadline is coming up for the Sketchbook Project and I'm almost done. I've been working on that thing nonstop because once again I was too lazy and let time just slip away.

As for other things, I've been doing a lot of modeling practice and I've learned a lot about the 3D world. So much is happening right now and it's all moving so fast, it's pretty hard to keep up. Still trying to learn After Effects but no luck. Although I've discovered a new software called Alchemy which is pretty badass. It's a free software that creates randomness that can then be translated in to actual forms by your imagination. I've used it in my sketchbook and I can't wait to start doing it digitally. It really gets your imagination going, although it seems like every one I do turns out to be a vehicle or a monster creation thing.

Anyway, I hope to be updating more often when the Sketchbook Project is over. You should check it out. It'll be on tour in the spring and you can see my actual work. It goes all over the nation but sadly I won't be on this continent, I'll be in Australia (if the whole coast doesn't flood).

P.S. I will finish my Pirate Gal but just not yet.
